FIVE BLANK PAGES GREET 2007 @ BIAF

Happy New Year! Although we STILL don't have rocketboots or full meals in pill form to show for it, we welcome 2007 warmly. We've had some holiday fun and (EDIT: almost) everyone in the band has gotten the travel bug out of their system- we'll be back to play shows very soon, starting with Fri, Feb 9th @ the Drake Hotel to launch the Brampton Indie Arts Festival in TO (the real fest is the following week in Brampton). This will also mark the 1 year anniversary (+ 1 day) of Rajiv's first show with Five Blank Pages, so come out, celebrate the beefy dancing goodness that is Rajiv, as well as the Brampton Indie Arts Festival, which our good friends are also playing (Cain And Abel! The Lollipop People! Cities In Dust!). How can you lose?! You just plain can't.

Hope to see you there,

GOOD-BYE 2006!?

Sunday night we walked out of our rehearsal space to catch the first snowfall- it was pretty beautiful, even though it seemed like it was limited to about 1 square kilometre around our rehearsal space. Hopefully you got a glimpse of it too! (cue clever segue) ...and maybe we can catch a glimpse of you (or even more), this Saturday, December 9th at 9:30pm, at the Legendary Horseshoe Tavern in Toronto- we'll be playing with our friends in Magneta Lane, Die Mannequin and The Ghost is Dancing. All fantastically amazing bands in their own rite and all ready to party until it hurts, just a little bit. Well, in a good way.

This fine event will be our final full band show of 2006 so we hope you can be there with us to celebrate a great year!

And check out these awesome posters: Poster 1 by myspace.com/fort_polio and Poster 2 by FlamingUnicornSkeleton.com- radness!

NORTH BY NORTHEAST & HAVE A NICE SUMMER

Finally! We've been able to get our site back up. Website hell, I tells ya. Anyway, anytime that happens, please head on over to our myspace page (bookmark it!). It's actually easier to update so you may even want to go there right after you come here, just to make sure you've got all your bases covered, ya know? Anyway, Carrasauga was lots of fun and we were really happy to be a part of it- thank to those who made it out and enjoyed the Turkish experience.

We'll be playing the North By Northeast Music Festival this year and we hope that you will make it. Our set is nice and early so you can even come right after school (if you are 19 or older- sorry!) or work and not even worry about missing any other sets since it's at 8pm, right before most showcases begin. Let us start off your night! 8pm @ the Silver Dollar on Thursday, June 8th with some really amazing bands, including a personal hero of ours, Matt Murphy's (Superfriendz, Flashing Lights) band, Cityfield. Grammar anyone? I didn't think so... We'll see you then!

It will be 10-11 songs and it's really shaping up. You may have heard a few new songs recently? Yes, yes, you have. We hope to see you at these last few shows as we won't be playing regularily until the autumn; just popping up from time to time to say hello with a new song or three.

WE WELCOME A FOURTH MEMBER & CMW THIS WEEK!

We're very excited to announce that Rajiv Thavanathan has joined Five Blank Pages on bass! Pinar will be heading over to the keyboard for good now, instead of running across the stage at each show to play both instruments. Rajiv is a wonderful person and an amazing musician. Please say hello and welcome him when you see him!

We're superpumped to about playing CMW this year for a few different reasons:

1} Rajiv will be dancing up a storm and be playing his first CMW with us;

2} We are playing at The Rivoli, one of the coolest venues in Toronto;

3} It is our third time playing CMW- woo!;

4} We'll be playing at least 2 new songs!; and

5} We haven't played in Toronto in 3 months and are anxious to play for all of our Toronto friends.

Thanks to Koray Ozel for the rad poster on our splash page too. We really hope you'll all be there to party with us this Friday!

COMING UP FOR AIR

Happy New year! We hope you've all had an amazing holiday and that you are all well. Our writing break is going wonderfully. We're working on many, many new songs, some of which will be going on our first full-length album, and some will be just for our live shows. Speaking of shows, we miss them and you! We've got a couple appearances coming up in Brampton (Brampton Indie Arts Fest!) and St Catharines which we hope to see you at. All the details are on the shows page. We'll also be playing this year's Canadian Music Week Festival in Toronto in March. We'll have the info for that show shortly. See you soon,

First off, we want to thank all of the people who bought tickets, came out, and were an AMAZING audience at the Paragon 3 Competition at Reilly's on Jan 24th. Although we didn't advance in the competition, you made us feel like winners anyway. Also, thanks to everyone who came out to B-Side on Jan 30th and to The Brampton Indie Arts Festival on Feb 8th. Thanks to Friendly Rich & The Pumpkin Pie Corporation for having us. The last 3 weekends have been a lot of fun!

We've got a few new shows posted: Fri, February 20th in Brampton; Sat, February 28th in Toronto (acoustic!); Fri, March 12th in Mississauga/Streetsville; and, we're putting our own singer-songwriter/acoustic show together for Sat, March 27th in Toronto. Please check out the shows page for venues, details, directions & more. We hope you can make it out to a show in your area. Five Blank Pages will also be featured on SPIRITlive Ryerson Radio on Thurs, Feb 19th at 8pm. Be sure to tune in for live music and an interview with myself, as well as at least three other neato indie artists. I'll be playing at least three songs.

We want to thank Sherri Wood for the great article she put together in The Toronto Sun for the Brampton Indie Arts Festival. If you missed it, it included a few of my quotes and a sweet picture of us (which was taken by Darren "The Killa" Lim). Don't we look great in print? We'll have the article in the press section of our site as soon as we have it scanned.

That's all for now — we hope to see you at one of these upcoming shows!

Welcome to the new
Five Blank Pages website!

If you're out of the loop, we've renamed the band from noyz to Five Blank Pages. Five Blank Pages was introduced on our Oct 4th show at The Horseshoe Tavern in Toronto. We're happy that so many people made it out to see us and we hope you enjoyed the show.

As for the new website, look around as there's plenty to see. Shows will be updated as soon as they are confirmed. Check out posters, show details, and a gigography of past noyz/Five Blank Pages' performances.

Chelen has done a great job designing the site and we hope you like the new look. The old noyz websites, www.noyz.8m.com & www.noyz.net, will no longer be updated with news and show information but we'll keep them running with a link to this page. For those of you who haven't updated your bookmarks, you can press CTRL + D to bookmark this page right now, or just add www.fiveblankpages.com to your favourites.

There are shows coming up in Oakville, Hamilton, and Guelph. More info on the shows page.

We've reduced the prices of all of the noyz
t-shirt merch. Check it all out on the merch page.

To be added to the Five Blank Pages mailng list just send us an email at info@fiveblankpages.com

Check out full songs and pictures on the media page. We've got some old live recordings of some unreleased songs on our new mp3.com/fiveblankpages site. Photos, new mp3s, the new bio, and press, are all on their way...

If you notice anything not working properly on the site, want to book us for a show, have any questions, or just want to say hello, please get in touch with us through the contact page. We'd love to hear from you.

This page will be updated as often as there is news. When there isn't news, maybe we'll make stuff up. Check back soon as the site is far from finished and will have more content soon.
